Team Breakdown
Mississippi State’s season could hinge on the consistency of talented dual-threat QB Kamari Taylor, who showed immense flashes in 2025. He adds Missouri transfer Marquis Johnson to an offense that already features one of the SEC’s best RBs in Fluff Bothwell. The major concern is an offensive line lacking proven starting experience. Defensively, CB Kelley Jones and LB Tyler Lockhart provide legitimate NFL talent, but the remainder of the unit features several question marks within Mississippi State’s conservative 3-3-5 defense.
Strengths
-Kamari Taylor’s dual-threat upside
-Fluff Bothwell; Kelley Jones; Tyler Lockhart
Questions / Concerns
-Kamari Taylor's consistency
-Inexperienced OL
-Lack of proven defensive production outside top players
